Happy Friday! It's time for Doodle Bugs Teaching's weekly linky party.
This week our theme was fall leaves and it was also our Grandparents' and Special Persons' Day. Monday we practiced cutting and tearing to make these fall rakes.
We also celebrated this cutie's birthday!
We made portraits of what the kids will look like when they're grandparents. The idea is from Deanna Jump's 100th Day Pack.
Our activity for Grandparents' and Special Persons' Day was making a fall wreath. The kids crumpled leaf die-cuts and then glued them onto a paper plate cut into the shape of a wreath. Then, they painted the leaves with a mixture of glitter and Karo syrup to look like morning dew. {Now, anyone who knows me knows that I avoid glitter at all costs. I make an exception for this project and a few other holiday projects.} The Karo syrup takes a few days to fully dry, but once it does it's no longer sticky.
Sorry I wasn't able to get more pictures of Grandparents' and Special Persons' Day, it was a busy but fun day! It's always so nice to get to see the kids' special visitors and let them show their visitor around the school. Thanks to all the family and friends who were able to join us!
Thanks for stopping by!
~Beth
