End of the Year Activities

Here's a look at all the fun things that have happened recently:

A reader from the public library has visited us twice.  I think the kids favorite part was the bubbles!

We had our last Young Audiences performance of the year with Janie Next Door.

During our last play group with Ms. Lindsey, she wrapped the kids in toilet paper and then they broke loose.  It's not every day you see a Pre-K class all tied up!

One of our sweeties brought in these beautiful flowers for us to enjoy!

We had a Celebration of Success for our kids going on to kindergarten next year.  We collected some of their art work, a self portrait, family picture, and a few other things into a file folder that they decorated.  During the Celebration, they went through their folder with their family.

For the Celebration, we put up pictures of the kids with what they want to be when they grow up.  We found the idea at Teach Them To Fly.

Here are a few pictures from the party.

Last week we had some fun with science!  We gave each cutie a tray with baking soda and a cup of vinegar and let them drip vinegar onto the baking soda.  They loved watching it foam up!

Someone loved the experiment, but hated the smell of the vinegar!

We also mixed cornstarch and warm water together to make Oobleck.  They had tons of fun with this gooey mess!

This sweet boy has a summer birthday, so we celebrated his birthday last week.

This handsome boy also celebrated his birthday last week!

We've had a lot of fun this month!  Stay tuned for our last week of school activities!

Field Day 2015!

A few weeks ago we had our annual Field Day!  I always love seeing the kids cheer each other on and wave at their friends in other classes as we pass in the halls.  It was pretty chilly and rainy this year, so all of our activities were indoors.

We started with scooter races.

Then we moved on to musical chairs.

Next we played zoo keeper freeze tag.

Then we had egg and spoon races.

Our next stop was an obstacle course.

Our last stop was steal the bacon.  When the color you're standing behind is called, you try and beat the other person to get the bean bag (aka: stealing the bacon).

We finished the day with popsicles!

The kids were great and we all had a lot of fun!

More Fairy Tales

I can't believe we're almost finished with another school year!  May always flies by and every weekend in May seems to be super busy, which means I get super behind on the blog!  So, I'm going to try to recap the last three weeks over the next few days.  We finished up our Goldilocks and the Three Bears projects and then moved on to The Three Billy Goats Gruff.

We finished assembling our three bears and added details to each bear.

The finished projects turned out pretty cute!

Then we moved on to The Three Billy Goats Gruff.  We painted pieces of paper plates and then made them into goats.

Our last goat project was making goat hats!

During table time, the morning class practiced cutting on a variety of lines.

The afternoon class had to put things in size order.

The kids really enjoyed our Fairy Tale Unit!
