Fire Safety {Five for Friday}

fiveforfriday2

Happy Weekend! It's time for the weekly Five for Friday Linky Party hosted by Doodle Bugs Teaching!
This week our theme was Fire Safety and Firefighters.  It was also our spirit week, so yes, we're wearing pajamas and superhero clothes.

On Monday we cut out flames and scribbled on black bulletin board paper to make smoke.  Then, we practiced crawling under the smoke.  We also practiced calling 911.

Tuesday, some of the local firefighters visited our school!  We made fire hats to wear and while we waited for the firefighters Ms. Mary did a language group.  The little cuties had to tell Ms. Mary where the parts of the fire engine were hidden.  She was looking for them to say something like, "The ladder is under the big yellow hat."  This was really hard for them!

 They had so much fun seeing the fire engine and getting to walk through the cab!

Wednesday and Thursday we worked on making these firefighters.  My little darlings cut out the face and wrote their age for the number on their fire hat.  Then, they worked on assembling the body.  Sorry I didn't get pictures of the process!

On Wednesday, we had a surprise snack, compliments of another classroom.  The kids loved the cupcakes, they had lots of green icing on them.  Lots and lots of GREEN icing!

We had a great week and I think my little darlings learned more about what to do in an emergency.

Thanks for stopping by!
