Last week we had fun with pumpkins! We started the week by counting pumpkin seeds at Circle Time. We have some great counters!
Then we painted paper plates to look like pumpkins. I found the idea at Fantastic Fun and Learning and then tweaked it a little. We stapled a pocket onto the back with their name on it and the letters of their name on tan ovals to resemble pumpkin seeds.
After the paint was dry, the kids drew a face and added a stem and a pipe cleaner for the vine. The afternoon class also traced the letters of their name.
For the last few weeks we've been singing Raffi's Five Little Pumpkins song. I found a worksheet at Stuck on Glue with the pumpkins to cut out and put on the fence and the words to the song. My sweeties loved decorating the pumpkins and singing the song while cutting and gluing!
We also worked on position words and following directions with a pumpkin poem. We moved the pumpkin from our feet to our hair, behind our back and under our legs.
On Tuesday we had our school-wide Pumpkin Fun Day. We played bean bag toss, ring toss, and bowling. We also had sensory tables filled with fall fun.
The afternoon class had fun helping their friends! We had cuties helping set up the bowling and helping retrieve bean bags.
And helping with ring toss!
We ended our week with yummy Halloween cupcakes that one of our sweeties brought in to share!
Stay tuned...I'll be posting pictures of each cutie with their pumpkin!
Thanks for stopping by!
