Over the last few weeks, we finished up our St. Patrick's Day theme and moved on to Easter fun. The kids had glued squares of green scrapbook paper onto a green piece of paper. Once it was dry, they cut it out into a shamrock shape. We had them hanging around the room for a week, but it appears that I never actually took a picture of them. Oops!
When we can't go outside for recess, we go to the gym for indoor recess. On Thursday mornings the gym is not available, so we've started having scooter races. The morning class loves doing this, I'm not sure about how everyone else feels about us loudly cheering each team on, though!
After we finished up our St. Patrick's day fun, we painted hand prints of each cutie in our class to make a new door decoration.
While each cutie was called over to paint their hand, the rest of the class played our colored popsicle stick game.
Here's the finished door, didn't Lynn make it look amazing?!?!
Then, it was on to Easter fun! We're on spring break right now, so we celebrated a little early. The kids took turns pulling a pom-pom ball out of the sensory box, identified the color, then placed it in a matching egg and closed the egg. Closing plastic eggs can be a little tricky!
During group time, we cut out bunny ears and made them into hats.
Here's a few of the kids with their hats. I had grand plans of getting a picture of each class wearing their bunny hats on Thursday, but I forgot...and then I remembered after we sent the morning kids home...and then I forgot again until the kids were getting on the bus. So, I still have a stack of bunny ear hats waiting for a cute picture. Until then, you have this little teaser. :)
The afternoon class also decorated paper eggs during groups.
They also worked on a color by number.
And counted Easter ten frames.
On Thursday, each class decorated another paper egg and then cut it out.
Then we hung them up around the room.
We also sorted jelly beans by color.
We finished the day with an egg hunt. Each sweetie found four eggs and then traded them for a bag of goodies.
It was a busy last day before break! I hope you're all having a great week!
Happy Easter!
Thanks for stopping by!
